Dreampad technology is based on the natural conductivity of the human body. Every time we speak we hear ourselves in two ways: externally and internally. Our voice carries through the airwaves and enters our outer ear; simultaneously, the vibration from our voice box is carried internally, by our bones (which are excellent conductors) to the inner ear.
Dreampad products replicate this natural process by playing audio through transducers which convert the sounds into a type of vibration that travels through solid material (vs. through the airwaves as with speakers). The calming effect of Dreampad products is a result of the vibrational sounds stimulating the vagus nerve, which in turn activates the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). Our PNS helps us regulate stress – if we’re in a state of hyper-arousal, or elevated stress, the PNS is the part of our nervous system which brings us down to a calmer place where we can relax and fall asleep.
When you lay your head down on a Dreampad pillow, you receive a gentle vibration from soothing sounds and sleep music that activates a calming response within your nervous system. This results in a more effective, yet completely different experience for inducing natural, comfortable sleep than by listening through speakers, sound machines, or headphones. Research shows that Dreampad’s unique technology can reduce stress and anxiety, helping you get to sleep and stay asleep.
Deampad products are designed to help those with sleep problems that may be caused by stress, anxiety, restlessness, PTSD, autism, ADHD, traumatic brain injury, and other conditions.
